Host Agreement

This agreement is for those who have already applied and been approved to host-a-hive, but I wanted to give you a clear idea of what you're getting into.

Updated 4.10.21

Other Considerations

  1. A one year commitment to hosting the hive is preferred, however, if you decide you can no longer host the hive, I am happy to move them to a different host site, no questions asked.

  2. At the end of the season, if harvest allows, I will provide you with one quart of honey from your hive, if you think that you will use more than one quart in a year, let me know and we can work that out. If your hive doesn't produce excess honey, I will provide you with honey from the nearest host hive to you.

  3. I will always notify you before entering your property to maintain the bees.

  4. I will do my very best to avoid swarming, but bees will be bees, so I can not guarantee it.

  5. I will maintain the hives' every need, from registration, to feeding, inspections, honey harvest, and pest management, etc.

  6. If you notice damage to the hive, please notify me as soon as possible.

  7. Like all living things, each colony has its own personality. If your hive becomes crabby, I will replace it with a different colony.

  8. I would love to use photos from your hive in my social media, website, and blog posts. If you have reservations for this, please let me know.
